Friday we had our semi-annual meeting with Dr. Lange, Deb's oncologist. He had a report on the scan done a month before and things continue to look good.
It was an uneventful visit. Deb and I both had colds (not very serious), and so we wore face masks rather than infect the low-immune-system patients. Still, it's difficult to have an interesting conversation when you're wearing masks. They would have been perfect for knocking over a bank on the way home, but neither of us felt up to it.
In general it's been a difficult period for us, as parental health issues have eaten up our vacation and travel time. There's nothing on the horizon resembling last year's Iceland trip. (We're paying attention to the news from the little town of Vik, which we visited. It's in the ash cloud and at least some of the people have been evacuated.)
But we have gotten to appreciate the local return of Spring. The picture is of Deb photographing the mating pair of swans that live in the park next to our apartment building.
