Comments on the third insight

The focus on beauty and wonder again reminds us of Moore. The notion that there are subtle energies to be seen--auras, for example--is a very old idea in the East. The Theosophists brought it to the West in the 19th century, and you can see it discussed in the popular literature of that era--Kipling's short story "They", for example. It has made a comeback in the last few decades--compare Don Juan teaching Carlos to "see" in Journey to Ixtlan. I've never seen subtle energies myself, but the fact that the idea refuses to die has to make a person wonder.
