The Questions

1. Are the good things in life rare, hard to find, and hard to hang on to? Or are they lying around everywhere, waiting for us to notice them?

2. Do people ever really change?

3. Is the world a forgiving place? Does one mistake wreck everything, or do we get many chances?

4. Is the average life worth living? Or do you have to do something extraordinary to justify being alive?

5. Is the world getting better or worse?

6. Are we happy/unhappy because of what happens to us, or because of how we react to what happens?

7. Is ignorance bliss and wisdom sorrow? Or is it the other way around?

8. Can people be trusted?

9. If people knew everything about you, would they like you?

10. Is your life a lot of unrelated episodes, or is there some larger theme, mission, or purpose behind it? If the latter, do you know what theme is, or do you just have faith that it exists?

11. Which are you more afraid of: Being too gullible and believing things that aren't true, or being too skeptical and missing out on something important?

12. Is it under our control whether we have good lives or not, or is it just luck?
